Thank you for this! I've had a flickering problem ever since Apple dropped support for 32 bit apps (seems it's not associated to that but it's when it started), and a reset of game settings and checking off vertical sync seemed to work. So thank you !! 

the edge smoothing trick worked for me, but made my game super slow so I tired this and it worked!! thank you so much
