Re: Game crashing or not loading especially after updating? Post here.

The Sims 4 will launch and behave normally for anywhere from 1 minute to about an hour of game play, but then it freezes. The screen is frozen, you can still hear the game functioning (like sims talking in live mode or the build/buy music) and the cursor will move, but the screen is frozen on one image. Clicking seems to be responsive but you can't see anything that's happening . Using keyboard shortcuts to save and quit doesn't work, neither does trying to exit the game from the dock icon, the only way to exit the game is to force quit. This is happening on the Tahoe 26.2 OS, but was also happening on Sequoia 15+ (I can't remember exactly which version I was on before updating to Tahoe). I've tried everything in the pinned troubleshooting post; uninstalling and reinstalling the game, deleting the cache, repairing the game with the app, and deleting the Sims 4 folder to start fresh, but nothing has fixed it. I have no mods installed on this device.  The computer continues to function like normal, and no crash report or errors are generated.

That isn't what your screenshot is showing. It shows files created at multiple different times on different days. If it happens every time you play I would expect to see all the files having the exact same date but with slightly different times for some of them. Start again with a clean folder and do not copy any of your existing data into the new folder the game has created. Start a new save and if the game is crashing/freezing make a note of what exactly you're doing in-game when this happens. After it happens once repeat the process with a new clean folder and new save, making a note of when it crashes/freezes. Do this 3 or 4 times then please post here what triggered the crashing/freezing. Maybe it is another app or process triggering it so pay attention to what else is running on your Mac when it happens.
