It’s an archive utility built into the operating system. Just double click on the zipped file.
The Unarchiver is an app to decompress files, it is nothing to do with the Sims. Please look it up on the App Store on your Mac.
Apple have a lot of help pages on their website, it may help you to have a look through them to better familiarise yourself with your Mac and how it works. Google is also very good for looking up stuff.

Hi again,
so I’ve taken your advice and spent an hour solely familiarising myself with the imac and realised that there was no need for me to install the unarchiver as I already have something similar by default.
ive managed to open all the zip folders in my mods folder but before I continue and transition over to the mods forum I had one last question as it is still technically technical related. After unzipping the mods downloaded folders, do I then need to delete the zipped Folders? and so the only thing that should be in the mods folder is the mods that have been extracted ?
