Sims 4 flickers and crashes when leaving home lot

I’ve replied to this thread (and to you directly) because the issue that ncsalley was having is a very similar issue to the one I’m having. I’m not sure if I need to start a new discussion - I’m new to this 😃 

Ive recently started playing the Sims 4 again after a very long break. The specs of the Mac I play are:

MacOS Catalina version 10.15.7

iMac (Late 2012)
Processor: 3.1 GHz Quad-core intel core i7
memory: 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3

So one of the issues I’ve got with the solution you provided (which is very comprehensive!) is that I can’t upgrade to Sequoia as my Mac keeps telling me the system is up to date. 

The issue I’m having on the Sims 4 is that it’s playing fine when I’m on my home lot, and I could play for a few hours with no interruptions. Then as soon as I travel anywhere - or go outside my home it crashes. The screen flickers and jumps around and eventually I have to quit.

I play with no mods or CC - and have deleted all the files in those folders (although there was only 1 resource one). 

do you have any solutions? It’s driving me mad 😠

LaraHudd Your Mac does not have an ARM chip, I've moved your post out of that thread because it is irrelevant and into the one you have already created. As you have an NVIDIA GPU and running Catalina your issue is most likely this one  [CURRENT ISSUE] Game screen glitches when I load into other lots. NVIDIA GPU | EA Forums - 11008002
