sims4 wont launch on macbook air?

i am trying to launch the sims4 on my macbook air but nothing seems to be happening. the sims logo will bounce at the bottom of the screen as if it is opening but then i am brought back to the ea app with no error message. my laptop is up to date and i have tried clearing caches, uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as repairing the game. i am lost now as to what to do to get this game to open. anything is helpful!
