Missing "Purchase Book" option & broken Vampire interactions

I am experiencing two major game-breaking bugs in my game right now

Vampire Interaction Issues My Sims cannot mix plasma drinks, and all interactions related to Vampires/Mixology are completely broken.

Broken Purchase Menu The Purchase Book option on bookshelves and computers now only displays books that my Sim already owns. The rest of the standard book catalog (skill books, novels, etc.) is completely missing from the shop interface

When did this start? The Vampire issue started first. Later, I used an in-game cheat code once to cure a Sim's vampirism. Shortly after that, My Sims cannot mix plasma drinks, and all interactions related to Vampires/Mixology then the Purchase Book interaction completely broken.

What I have already tried (and did NOT work):

Repairing the game: I ran the "Repair" option via the EA Application, but it did not fix either issue.

Full Reinstall: I completely uninstalled and reinstalled The Sims 4, but the problems persist.

Has anyone encountered this specific interface disappearance or found a fix to restore the book purchasing option and Vampire scripts? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Ashtler  At this point, something has happened that has bled over to any save you've started in that user folder it seems.   The issue has apparently baked itself into the save where it started certainly.  Tbh, I doubt that you will ever fix the issue in that save.  The issue also seems to only affect your saves as there are no other reports here of it happening to other players nor is it something gone wrong with the game files itself.  Both issues you've mentioned may be the current issues that Pick-a-boo_doo has posted the links for earlier.

So, the only thing left is to abandon the save that originally had the issue.  In fact, you should trash or otherwise isolate the entire "The Sims 4" folder as well to be sure you've gotten clear of the issue.  Then start the game and let it create a new user folder.  Then play that new save from then on.  I suggest you go through all mods and CC and test everything individually to make sure it all works before placing it in the new user folder.  For CC, I suggest you look at each file individually in Sims4Studio (S4S) and test every mod individually as well.  You can try saving sims and lots from the previous save to your Library for transfer to the new save.  However, that does risk of the issue happening again so it's one of those "at your own risk" type of things.

    Hope this helps.
