Every time I start the game the little intro plays and I get the loading screen before the main menu. It never loads further, I've tried waiting it out but after 15 mins I gave up and force-quit. I've tried moving my Sims 4 folder so a new one is generated, reinstalled the game and origin, and restarted my computer and nothing has worked. I have a mid 2014 macbook pro with the newest updates available.

How much storage space is available on your Mac?
When you moved the Sims 4 folder, did you move any of the contents into the new Sims 4 folder that was generated?

I have 28-29 GB of storage available, and did not move anything into the new folder; the game was working just fine earlier this week and so I had initially thought it was a mod/CC issue. I've also tried starting the game in windowed mode with no luck.
The new account has the same issue sadly. I only got the newest software update for macOS this morning after my game already started acting up as one of my attempts to resolve the issue.
I don't think it ever asked for that access; origin on opening asked for admin password which I gave it, but I don't recall any other pop-ups.
On my admin account it has the access; on the new account there's not a way to give it access, I think it hasn't been able to load far enough to ask or that it accepts the access the admin has idk
By some miracle the game has spontaneously started working on my admin account! Maybe my sims decided to end their strike? I think that the action of making a new account and double checking that the permissions were correct fixed it somehow.
