Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

I have all of the needed downloaded applications, new EA App. But when I try to open the game I get this message:

Unable to start:

The Sims™ 4 is already running.

[ed35e0ea:29f00e76:00000000:18a1dd51]

There is nothing I can do to change this and I will love to play this game.

I am on a Mac. Please help!
