I just went to add Sims 4 Discover University Expansion Pack to my daughter's Mac Book Air. Doing this through Origin, I went to open Sims 4 after the download was complete. However, I get a pop-up window stating: "Unable to open. The Sims 4 is already running. Error code [ed35e0ea:29f00e76:00000000:18a1dd51]".
I have tried updating the game and repairing the game. I have deleted and reinstalled Origin. I deleted and reinstalled Sims 4. Nothing worked.
I am not computer savvy, and do not know where to go from here.
I have seen this same issue come up in years past. Can anyone walk me through on what to do to fix this for my daughter?
Thank you.

Hi, have you tried launching the game from another user?
- 6 years ago@milidarriulat I created a new user account on Origin. The Sims game is connected to my original user account. Is there a way to allow the new user account to use the game on the original user account?
Thank you for the help.- 6 years ago
I'm having the same issue - created a new user on my Mac to get around the problem, worked for one day, now I'm getting "Unable to start: Origin is currently not running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play The Sims™ 4 [d3382ced:984c6a38:00000001:00000000]".

You have both posted a different error message stating that Origin is NOT running. Can you please confirm whether this is the actual message you are receiving?
