“Something went wrong” sims 4 error

my game crashed and I got a pop up on ea saying I need to repair the game and when I did it stopped at 50% saying “something went wrong, try again, exit the app or contact support”, I read somewhere that uninstalling the game would work so I’m trying that but now it’s not downloading the game and giving me the same error. 
I honestly don’t understand this tech stuff at all so I am at loss on what to do 😭
