Best laptop for mods?

I am looking to upgrade my laptop to play sims 4 (I currently have a mac but it's not the best for gaming). I have most of the packs and lots of mods - I want a PC to use gshade & potentially blender in the future.

I'm considering getting this https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/p/laptops/loq-laptops/lenovo-loq-essential-gen-9-15-intel/83lkcto1wwgb1 It's cheaper than most gaming laptops and I'm just looking to have a laptop for Sims so I don't think it needs the greatest power, just a solid structure/cooling system.

There is an option of upgrading the specs - it comes with 8gb RAM and a NVIDIA 2050 card as standard but you can upgrade to 16GB or NVIDIA 3050. Would you prioritise a high graphic card or high memory?

I think 512GB should be enough for SSD storage too.

TIA!

  • Pink_3_Glitter  Sorry for the late-ish reply.  With a gaming laptop, I would always go for the better graphics card because RAM can be upgraded but the GPU cannot.  The cost of the RAM upgrade is very reasonable, but you can always do it in a year or two if you decide it's necessary.

The computer is fine overall, so if it's within your budget and you like it in general, I don't see a reason not to get it.  But if you'd like other suggestions, let me know how much you're willing to spend, and I'll have a look around.  I don't think I'll find anything cheaper though—under £600 for an RTX 3050 is pretty unusual.
