can’t play at all

hey so uh i played sims couple hours ago and it worked just fine, but when i tried to play it again i couldn’t. steam launched it as usual but it went straight back to the ea app. i tried everything i could find online, such as re-installing the ea app and i used the “ea app updater” thing and it still didn’t work. i also verified the game files (steam) and cleaned the app’s cache (ea app), is there anything else i can try without actually deleting the game? i spent so much time on it and i really don’t want to start over :”)

i saw some people had the same problem from time to time but i noticed there isn’t any solution yet 😭 please help me out

If that doesn't or didn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  If it copies instead of moving, or you get an error when trying to move it, stop here and let me know.

Otherwise, when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
