So I updated the game with no problems but i never received the user agreement message and I can't connect online. I can't get into the gallery at all or collect my rewards from the event. I can play offline but my game keeps freezing up or completely crashes on me. I'm trying to do the event but without the online connection to the game I can not finish it and I am very upset. Please fix this issue.
I play Online and Sims 4 is not recognizing I am online this issue happens EVERY TIME there is an event which prevents me from downloading rewards. PLEASE FIX THE BUG
autumnbreize babh613 Have you enabled Online Social Features, in Options > Game Options > Other? Is the EA App in online mode? While offline, you wouldn't see your full game library or any ads, just a list of installed games to launch.
Please also let me know whether you were previously able to connect in-game, or if this has never worked.
This just happened with the new update. I was online 4 days ago and yes the Social Features is on. My mods and cc have been disabled and it still won't let me online. I can play in offline mode but I can't collect my event rewards or access gallery. I am upset because this happens every time there is big updates. What's the point of having an event and updating all at the same time when a lot of people are having the same issue and can't get their rewards. I don't see EA extending the event after DLC release.
autumnbreize Does your computer support wifi? If so, please set your phone as a mobile hotspot, using data rather than your home network, and connect your computer to that. The idea is to see whether a different connection allows the game to go online. Testing shouldn't use much data.
My PC is already set to wifi. It always has been. I have Xfinity so any hotspot will be through them on my account. My phone is through them as well so the internet is the same. It has nothing to do with my connection or anything else. It worked fine before the update. Like I said this always happens after a big update. The problem is the EA servers being broke because of updates. Many other people are having the same issue or they are getting crashes and glitches or bugs. That should to say something. Its the EA servers. Please fix them as I would like to finish and enjoy the event and other gameplay online please.
autumnbreize It's not just the provider, it's the whole pipeline. So please set your phone to data rather than your home wifi and connect your computer to that, and let me know how it goes.
The EA servers most certainly did not break. There are a few reports of not being able to connect on PC (more on console), but lots and lots of reports of issues with features that require a connection to access. So clearly many players are able to connect without a problem.
Additionally, when updates break something, that then gets fixed later for no apparent reason, a common cause is an antivirus blocking some new game feature, then the AV getting updated to allow that feature.
So you want me to set my phone to data so that I have to pay data charges when clearly Everything worked fine up until the updates. Its sad that many people are reporting issues for pc and console offline and online but yet its not EA 's fault. The servers are clearly experiencing issues.
