Can't Go Online

I have an internet connection just fine. In fact, I'm watching Twitch while playing but when I try to go to the gallery it says I need to connect online. So I click it and it says I don't have internet connection. I've gone out of the game and back in a few times and nothing has changed.

  • So I contacted EA Chat support and this is what they told me. This FIXED my problem. I'm leaving this here for anyone else that experience what I went through. Keep in mind I'm running Windows 10:

Hold down the Windows Key and press X.
    Click Administrator: Windows Powershell.
When the command prompt opens, type ipconfig/flushdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Once you complete this please complete the following steps mentioned below and your issue should be resolved.
Open the Start menu and search for msconfig.
    Click on System Configuration.
    Click the Services tab.
Check the box to Hide all Microsoft Services, then click the Disable All button.
Click on the Startup tab, then click on Open Task Manager.
It can take a few seconds for the Task Manager list to load.
Click each of the Startup programs in the list then click the Disable button.
    Close the Task Manager window.
Click OK on the System Configuration window to save your changes, then restart your computer.
Once you restart your computer, try launching your game again.

  • Hi @HappyPhantomSim  Make sure it hasn't been reset for some reason, in the Origin main screen or ingame... also try the 'repair game' via the small cog near 'Play', and let us know how you go.

    or ingame...

I have no connection to EA

  • Origin shows I'm online and everything is checked under game options that shows in your picture. I clicked on 'repair' and went in game and it's still telling me there's no internet connection and I'm on the internet.

    @HappyPhantomSim

Try to clear your Origin Cache files:
    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
If it will not help uninstall Origin by using Revo (free version - you don't pay for it ) - it will be clean all traces of bugged Origin from your computer. You can uninstall Origin with add/remove programs option but still, you need to use Ccleaner after uninstalling to clean computer and using Revo is easier.
    https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo-uninstaller-free-download/
    and install Origin again
    http://origin.com/download

If you are on a Mac and not on a PC Windows, it is done differently

    I don't work for EA

  • That didn't work ☹️ I really don't want to have to uninstall Origin and re-install all my Sims stuff. That's going to take forever but it may be my last shot I guess. I can play just can't get into the gallery.

Hi @HappyPhantomSim if all else fails, and you've tried Kreatoras tips, you could contact EA for online support chat perhaps..

    Spoiler

    - Go here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/#

    - Log in (top right corner) with Origin credentials

    - Click on Sims 4, then follow by choosing PC, technical problem, etc.. then select a contact option

    - On the next page click on + by the chat option, fill what's necessary so EA support will contact you through chat

or see more details here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/EA-General-Questions/How-to-contact-a-Game-Advisor-using-the-new-EA-Help-page/m-p/2161281

    @HappyPhantomSim

Reinstalling Origin has nothing to do with your games. It works similarly to Gmail. If you uninstall Gmail from your computer your email address and mails will not disappear from your account. Just reinstall it and after logging in you will find that nothing has changed

EA will recommend the same as me, but of course, you can contact them
