Can't load a downloaded save file

I downloaded a couple of save files several months ago, these ones made by other players which include reworked community lots, houses and households. I never had any problem with this until I decided to start another game and load one of these saves I already played in. The result was even after putting it in the save folder and doing all the steps correctly, it won't appear on the save list in game and I can't load it, it doesn't matter what I do. I tried downloading other save files including the Lilsimsie one, and still nothing. I tried reinstalling the game, nothing.

Also, my own save files in game are working pretty fine, it just happens to downloaded ones. Help please! D:

So I just tried downloading the save file again, but instead of renaming it, I put on the save folder exactly how it is. And it worked! I had to delete a file with the same name for it to work, but at least it's in my game now.

  • @hatedsprite  Please list the full file path to the saves you've downloaded from elsewhere.  If you're looking at one of the files, you can see the file path in the address bar, above the list of files and folders.

Please also load the game to the Main Menu, click Load Game, and hover over the folder icon underneath the other info for one of your saves.  That shows the file location where that save is stored, and that's also where the saves you've downloaded need to go.

Thanks for replying, but I already put the downloaded save file in the save folder. I know it's one of the steps, and that was the first thing I did. I've done everything necessary and still it doesn't appear in game. If I click "Load Game" it won't be there, as if I haven't done anything. :/
