Child respawns after death

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I have all
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Don't empthy the lint tray of the dryer and have a child attempt to "dry clothes" untill it catches fire.
What happens when the bug occurs? The child died in said fire, however after Grim was done and the tombstone spawned, the child "respawned" and a message about him being taken away due to neglect popped up. He then left the household. He is still marked at alive in the family tree and the tombstone has no text.
What do you expect to see? Since he died, I expected him to stay dead. But since children can't normally die in the sims 4, I didn't expect the fire/him to catch on fire.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Possible bug with the new stuff pack "Laundry Day".

I somehow managed to kill a child by having him catch on fire from attempting to dry clothes in the dryer.

  • I do think they can die in fires. What happens afterwards is strange though. There was another thread on Sims dying and being resurrected.

The problem with this report is that you're using mods. Are you able to repro this on a vanilla game as well ?

  • I doubt my mods are at fault in this case since none change anything with fire or death, but I'll try and replicate on vanilla

    OK. Thanks for your feedback.

Yeah, especially if you're using MCCC I need stuff tested on vanilla. That mod changes a lot.
