This is happening to me today. I already played the game earlier today with no issues. I did add/update some mods and cc before launching tonight, and so I figured maybe one of those was an issue, so I got rid of all of the new files, but the issue is still happening. I have already restarted my laptop, done EA App Recovery, restarted the EA App, repaired the game, and deleted localthumbcache in my Sims 4 game folder. Nothing seems to be working. Is anyone else having this issue recently?
Update: Okay, so I spoke to a couple of agents via the EA Help Support live chat and they suggested that I back up my game, move the Sims 4 folder to desktop and launch the game to generate a new one in documents, and then put my saves and tray files back, and then lastly test all of my mods using the 50/50 method. I ended up finding that a custom content set I downloaded yesterday was causing the issue. That being these: https://simsinlowspace.tumblr.com/post/690940469405941760/perennial-landscapes-12-painting-trios. It's such a shame because they're so pretty too! :( Anyway, I would definitely go ahead and check your mods and CC if you haven't already. Hopefully, this helps someone.
