Hi, this is my first time posting here so excuse me for this random post but I really need some help with my game. My sims 4 game was working just fine for the past few weeks until I recently. I had repaired my game a few days ago and it uninstalled itself after I cancelled the repair so I had to quite literally wait 2 days for my game to redownload. I opened my game yesterday and it was working just fine so I closed it out to redownload my expansion packs. Today for some reason when I tried to open my game EA keeps telling me that the game is already running even though my game is not working. At first I thought it was because my cc and mods had to reinstall so I spent half of the day waiting for all of that to reinstall even though now I realize it wasn't really necessary and even after all of that my game still isn't running. I quite literally tried everything from restarting my computer, restarting the EA app, doing the closing in the task manager, repairing the game itself in the EA app, and unplugging and replugging back in my external hard drive and nothing is working. I looked up what the cause of this was but all the posts are really outdated for my liking and I just want to play my game. The one thing I really don't want to resort to doing is having to uninstall the game and wait another 2 days for this * to reinstall just for it to the same thing again and have to go through the long process of reinstalling my packs again. Plus, from what I read the EA app itself is really trash so idk what I need to do for this to work. If I could get some help I would really appreciate it a lot because I want to keep back to playing my game.

@DANTESLAYTTER I've merged your post with the master thread for this error. The first post on page one has other troubleshooting suggestions.
However, before pursuing those, is your game installed on the external drive, or is your user data perhaps installed there? If either one, please make sure the drive has the same letter as it did when you put the content there originallly. If it doesn't, that would explain the issue. Windows assigns drive letters in the order in which the drives are connected, so a different order means a different letter, which means the game isn't in the location (as in file path) it's supposed to be.
