I downloaded sims 4 through EA app. When I click play and error message pops up. "Data missing or damaged" I have NO mods or CC. I haven't even been able to open the game yet. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted PC, repaired EA app. Repaired Sims game. I have checked files, hidden files etc etc Nothing is working. I got a new SSD which is 1T and has nothing else on it so I've been downloading EA app and the sims to the 1T. The ssd is not courrupted. There is nothing wrong with it. Pleeease help!!

@mahmoudalwasif If OneDrive is running on this computer at all, whether you use it or not, try pausing syncing. You can do so by right-clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
@NicoleSummerb I've merged your post with another thread about the same error. Please see the above.
Edit: Posts merged with new master thread. Please see the first post on page one for further troubleshooting.

I ended up creating a new user account on my PC and it works on that. I tried everything 😅 Someone said something about a corrupt file on the registry but that goes way above my head.

@NicoleSummerb A new Windows account is one of the known workarounds for this issue, and I'm glad it helped you.
If you'd like to use your existing saves and other user data, you can transfer the files to the new account as well. Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, double-click the C drive, and open Users > Public. This folder is accessible from all accounts on the computer. You can drop any files in here while in the old account and retrieve them in the new account, then place them in the corresponding folders within Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.
