I had this issue with my Lenovo touchscreen laptop, after a lot of research and troubleshooting I found something that worked. I disabled HID compliant Pen.
Device Manager >Human Interface Device>HID compliant pen
I don't even have a pen for my touchscreen but turning this off made my mouse stop jumping around erratically. Good luck!
I’m currently updating sims and followed your instructions and am SO looking forward to hopefully playing again. I thought it was over between me and sims 4 💛 thank you for the advice
