This thread is 3 years old with 16 pages of posts. If you want help from someone specific, you can tag them by writing @PattycakesGalore, but with their username after the @.
But if they're not a helper and they posted a long time ago they might not come back, also the game works differently now than it did 3 years ago. Please explain your problem and we'll try to help you 🙂
After I updated it my game doesn't even work, unless I put my sims 4 folder outside but still no CC shows up!!! CC is a huge part of my game and I am really getting frustrated because the CC button is on, all my cc is package, there is no subfolder and I have literally spent the whole day downloading new CC because everyone said that my CC is "out of date". I am really not happy, the fact that my game doesn't even work properly is bad enough. I have got it repaired and it made the problem worse, I am really not happy with this. Please if anyone has tips that do work, please share them, i am in desperate need!!
Thats exactly what I did and now there wot working AGAIN!

Your game did not work with the mods folder there? You're talking about different things in your post, please be clear about what you need help with, your game starting or the mods showing up 🙂
If no mods show up in your game
- Did you place them in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
- Do the game register that there are mods? Do they show up in the list in the beginning or if you open the mods list from the options menu?
- Do you have OneDrive on your computer? Make sure that the game is not using the OneDrive-folders. Try turning off OneDrive before starting the game.
You can check where the game saves your files by looking in your Game Options - Screenshot settings.
Make sure that the path above is the same place as where you have your saves and mods. (not in the screenshots-folder but the one 'above')
You can copy and paste them for easy comparison. Paste them here so that we can check together
Example, the path above and my mods folder:
- C:\Users\Meki\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Screenshots
- C:\Users\Meki\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
The text in bold needs to be exactly the same
- Omg, thank you so much I've had this problem for about over a mouth now and you just made my day thx!

I had the exact same problem as you! I found out how to fix it!
After loads of hours of hard thinking I found out why it doesn't work sometimes. You see, when you add mods to the mods folder sometimes you make a duplicate of it on your desktop so its easier to put downloads in. (Im on a Mac) so what I didn't realize is that I was using the duplicate and not the real thing. To find the real thing go to documents>Electronic arts>Sims 4>Mods. If you are having a problem with them not loading in the game, the folder should show up empty (thats what happened to me. I kind of panicked but then realized what had happened xD) except for the resource file. then after that copy and paste the items into the real thing and then you have them! Hope you found this helpful. I hope its not to confusing either. Anyway, Have a good day!
- Hello I have just updated my game and all my cc worked but some of it was in my script mods so it never appeared. I ended up starting over and deleting everything because I did not know which cc was bad/broken cc. when I went back into my game an error popped up so I took a lot of the cc out and tried going back in my game it worked but the custom content that was in my mods folder did not show up in the game. Yes i made sure my custom content and cc was checked so I uninstalled/reinstalled my things are showing up in custom content but they are not showing up in my game only one cc showed up and it was hair what can I do. does it matter that some of the cc was from 2017 like can that be because the person who made the cc did not update or is there a way I can fix this on my own.
- Me too. It shows in the folder but does not show at all in the game.
- Well, put in the right file, it does not show if I open the mods list from the options menu. I do not think I have OneDrive.

mods/cc is turned on in your options ?
The folder shows as in the pics above ? If so, could you post a screenshot of your mods folder ? Make sure it doesn't show any personal info.
