Dynamic background hasn't updated yet?

Hi! I don't have the newest (second) version of the new dynamic menu background. The one that's graffiti and such. It's not so much that I'm dying to have it (lol) but just that it bugs me that something isn't working that should be. A family member who plays sitting right next to me on their own laptop has had it for days. (and we have the exact same laptops) Along with everyone else I've seen talking about it online.

This is with no mods or CC currently in my game. And I have loaded into a few families, played a bit, and saved each time. Also, I know how to delete all my cache files and have done so numerous times.

Anyone have any help or ideas? It's most appreciated!

I'm having the exact same issue. I went through and tried all these fixes and still, my main menu is just plain.

puzzlezaddict Oh I knew I forgot to list something I had done - I did repair it to start with. And yeah it really is super strange and that's why I set out to figure it out. "Why aren't you working??", haha. Not so much that I love the background or anything. :)

Hopefully next time it changes, it will kick back into gear..

  • heyjedikitty  That's strange, and I don't really know what else to suggest, except maybe repairing the game.  But I wouldn't worry about it if you're not seeing any other issues.  Check back when the new round of login events starts, and when the next patch drops, and I would guess the problem will have fixed itself.

  • heyjedikitty  Yes, trashing the new Sims 4 folder and restoring the old one will restore all your user content.  But before you do that, please create a new save, place a sim, save in live mode, quit, and reload, just to see whether this triggers the new background.

Thanks for the response! That didn't change anything though, I am afraid.

So now do I delete the new folder and put my old one back in to get all my saves and such back?

  • heyjedikitty  Please test in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just see whether the Main Menu is updated.

  • Oh, also - I guess I should add that my game is fully updated to finish covering all the bases.
