EA app not launching any of my games

I play The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims 4 (which is also connected to Steam), and I haven't opened these games since Feb 20th before the recent updates. They were updated since then. When I try to launch any of these games (whether through steam or the EA app) the only thing that happens after I get the "preparing game" loading pop-up is that the EA app opens to my library. Nothing else. Not even a black screen or anything.

I've ended the EA task in my task manager, restarted my computer, removed all my mods/CC, uninstalled the EA app and reinstalled, run the program as an administrator, and tried populating a clean save by removing the Sims 4 folder. I anticipate the problem has nothing to do with a save file because none of my other games will launch either.

I can provide information on my computer specs if necessary but it is a high-performing computer.

I'd like to note that I also tried repairing the game via Steam and that did nothing, and wouldn't have affected The Sims or The Sims 2.

Hi I have the same problem since this morning. I've also opened a discussion on steam community, I've tried to reinstall EA App, nothing happened, moved mods and related folders, nothing happened, had a file validation by Steam and had a problem installing one missing file, so I start to uninstall/reinstall the game via Steam and now after 31gb it say that there's a problem writing on the disk, so I'm stuck there 😭

My solution was to update my NVIDIA driver. I exhausted every other option trying to get the games to run and I'm still unsure if The Sims is working but The Sims 2 and The Sims 4 launched once the driver was updated.

Updating my NVIDIA driver was a temporary solution. I’m back to square one and now reinstalling my games.

  • Piperbee  Please list where each game is installed (Steam or the EA App) for reference.  And please confirm that none of the games work after reinstalling.

Please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
