EA app won’t open - red X popup appears when launching The Sims 4

 when i try to start the ea app or the Sims 4 i get a popup box with a red x in it

    Hi joecobra72​ ,

    Please download a fresh copy of the EA app installer from the official EA website:

    https://www.ea.com/ea-app#downloads

    Once the download is complete, follow these steps:

    1. Close the EA app completely.
    2. Run the newly downloaded installer.
    3. Select the option to repair the EA app.
    4. Allow the repair process to finish.
    5. Restart your computer.
    6. Open the EA app and check whether it loads correctly.
    7. Try launching The Sims 4 again.


    The Sims 4 generally requires the EA app to open and load correctly before the game can launch.

    If the EA app still does not work after the repair and restart, please post a screenshot of the error message. Make sure any personal information, email addresses, or account details are hidden before uploading it.
