Did you rename your entire user folder, then start a new game ?
Also try turning off Origin in game to see if that helps: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/deactivate-origin-in-game/

I took your advice and nothing changed. and before that I uninstalled the game, re-installed it, repaired it (all without mods btw) But ever since the update, my game is completely broken. I can create sims, place them on lots and but when I try to actually PLAY the house, they are invisible and the menu (needs, inventory, etc.) isn't there either.
