endless loading screen for live mode

after the new update i can't go into live mode.

i can make a new family, but when i try to play with them it gives me an error that tells me to restart the game.

trying to go into live mode is an endless loading screen. i've left it alone for 2+ hours to load with no results, just a loading screen.

i've already sifted through all of my mods and the culprit seems to change every time i move things around. i recently updated all my mods too, to no result.
