Gallery freezes and crashes the game

I've been experiencing this problem for about 2 weeks now and have exhausted all options I can think of or have come across on the forums and other pockets of the internet. Every time I open the gallery, it eventually freezes. Sometimes I can scroll for a little bit, sometimes it's immediately, but it's generally within the first 30 seconds of opening the gallery. Sometimes I get the "Program Not Responding" pop-up, in which case I send a report to Microsoft, but most of the time I have to force close it via the Task Manager. All other aspects of the gameplay work as expected with no crashing or freezing, and very minimal lag.

My PC specs surpass all the recommended requirements (not just the minimum requirements). My computer is hardwired to my modem, so I do not connect to the network via WiFi. Here is a list of everything I have tried thus far:

  • Verified all mods & CC were up to date
  • Removed all mods & CC
  • Removed the tray folder (twice)
  • Deleted my cache (cache and cachestr folders, avatarcache.package, localthumbcache.package)
  • Ran a game repair (twice)
  • Ran a command on Windows PowerShell (Admin) to detect and repair corrupt files
  • Made sure my computer was up to date & restarted it
  • Turned off my VPN and firewalls
  • Finally, I resorted to doing a clean install - Backed up my saves and after uninstalling the game, I deleted the Sims 4 folder in the Documents path. Once I reinstalled the game, I did not add anything into the new folders.

I'm at my wits end because this doesn't seem to be a very common problem right now.

The only thing I have not tried (which just occurred to me) is to disable the packs and run it with the base game. I have all the packs, which is obviously a lot, but as I stated before, my system surpasses the recommended requirements, and all other aspects of gameplay are fine.

I've tried everything the internet has to offer me on this issue with the gallery freezing and it's been happening for over a month now. Removed all mods/CC, cleared cache, deleted the tray folder, ran a game repair, did a full uninstall by making sure I removed everything from the Documents>Sims4 pathway, and reinstalled. I also ran some command on my computer to detect and repair corrupt files. My specs surpass the recommended requirements (not just the minimum). I have 16GB RAM, 10 of which is free. Every other aspect of game play works as expected. It only freezes when I try to access the gallery. I keep checking back for a solution, because I really miss the gallery.
