Gallery refuses to connect to online following game crashes
Hello. Currently on version 1.13.291.1020 DX11, which should be the latest per the EA App, with all TS4 DLC installed, and I cannot figure out why my game refuses to connect to the Gallery. I can access the Library well enough, but get stuck on an eternally "Attempting-to-Connect" Screen. This is very frustrating because of the limited-time event, which requires online connection to claim rewards.
I noticed this issue occurring after a couple of my households which I uploaded to my library were marked as "Modded" for some reason. I do use some Mods - MCCC and Better Build-Buy mainly, with a few additional - but as far as I'm aware I don't use anything that would interfere with CAS appearing to be Modded or not. However - after these households were uploaded, I tried to start a new game using that saved household, and the entire Sims 4 game crashed as soon as I tried to hit the "complete" checkmark. And when I tried a second time, the game crashed upon me trying to merge those households into the New Game CAS screen. (I deleted both "modded" households and made identical twins of all of them, and those appear to have uploaded correctly.)
Since this, however, I've not been able to connect to the gallery. I have tried removing all mods, game repairs, deleting cache files, even renaming the TS4 folder to "TheSims4_Backup" and relaunching an entirely clean game with none of my saves. Everything short of a full reinstall, that is, and I want to avoid that if at all possible because of how much DLC I own.
If there's anything that can maybe fix this issue, please let me know! I just want to finish the limited-time event. ;w;
(unlike the other active issue, I'm not even getting an error message. I'm just still stuck with the Spinny Plumbob-wheel of Death)
Thank you!
Disregard. The solution was, apparently, reinstalling only the base game by starting the base game through Steam, connecting to the gallery that way, then Exiting, removing the game from my Steam account, and "reinstalling" the base game in its original Origin Games folder in my C-drive program x86 files, made way back in 2018 when i first bought the base game (or whenever Origin made me download it, I dunno). I dunno why the steam workaround fixed it, or if that was even the actual fix, but it seems I can collect the event rewards and connect to the gallery now, so ? Here's hoping it doesn't happen again, I suppose.
