Kita5399 Thanks for the dxdiag. The Sims 4 crashes it lists are somewhat generic—I've seen them triggered by anything from a bad graphics driver to corrupt mods or custom content to trying to load a corrupt household or lot. So unless you want to go right to uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics driver, which you can do if you like, I'd suggest some experimenting.
Please start another new save and remove all the households and lots from the new world. Do it in batches if you have to, quitting and restarting as necessary. Place some default EA builds and sims (nothing from the Gallery, just the usual default Library entries), save, quit, reload again, and see whether the error happens. If you can't trigger a crash, you can try deleting only the lots instead, or only the sims.
If you'd rather clean-uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver, here's how:
I haven't seen another report of exactly this, although many players provide fewer details than you did, so I can't say that it isn't happening in general. But it doesn't appear to be all that common, certainly not universal, or there would be much larger numbers of reports.
puzzlezaddict Thanks for the help! After 20 years of playing the Sims I’m no stranger to troubleshooting after updates, but this one has me stumped. I’m seeing some type of connection to building on the waterhole lot and the one up in the tree (can’t recall the lot name), but triggering it has been inconsistent. I tried your suggestion of replacing the lots and Sims there, and it’s those same two lots crashing. I’ll probably try the graphics drivers tomorrow, as it’s late here now. I’m probably just going to call it and uninstall the game and the EA app, do a fresh install and start over new. I do have backups from before the patch saved on a flash drive, in case I want to try rescuing anything. Anyway thanks again, I’ll update if I find anything noteworthy tomorrow.
