Game crashes when openedd

I recently downloaded The Sims 4 on my Laptop.  Each time I attempted to open TS4, it kept crashing, flashing black and white for a few seconds, showing a large white screen, and refuses to close until i restart the entire laptop. It is a more higher end laptop if it helps.  I downloaded it both through the EA app and Steam as well
