Game crashes when saving

my game keeps crashing when I go to save it. I’m not saving and exiting, I’m just saving. It freezes on the buffer screen and then I end up having to ctrl/alt/deleting to get the game to close since it won’t unfreeze. Ive lost HOURS of progress.
