Game crashing during opening load scren

So I haven't played in a few days, thought I'd hop in and play. Oh look, a new update! Yay! Updated the game and thought happy times coming. I was wrong.

So it launches the game and starts that really long opening launch stuff, no worries, then crash!!! Wait, what? Try again, same result. Repaired game, same result. Tried removing mods, same result. There is NO error code, no warnings just crashes. So then I thought my graphics card could be out of date, it was, updated that, and wouldn't you know it? It still crashes the exact same spot.

I cleared cache, no help. I'm not reinstalling because I know from experience that doesn't help. What's going on EA?

  • CrowTalons  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
