Game Crashing on Startup

I'm completely at a loss. I haven't been able to play The Sims 4 for a month now because every time I open the app, it never gets past the initial loading screen before crashing.

I've removed all my mods, deleted and reinstalled the game twice, restarted and updated my computer, but still haven't been able to play the game.

I downloaded The Sims 4 off of Steam, if that helps with anything. I've also linked my dxdiag file as well to see if anyone can pinpoint an issue in there that may be causing this. I just don't know what to do now...

  • LeBiscuitDoctor  Thanks for the dxdiag, which shows that your Nvidia GPU may have been disabled.  So please reenable it.  Click Windows key-X, select the Device Manager, expand Display Adapters, right-click the Nvidia entry, and Enable.  Then restart your computer and try again to play.

If that doesn't help, please remove your saves folder from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  There's a current issue with the game crashing when certain saves are present:

Thank you so much, it was in fact my save files preventing me from being able to play the game. Now I just wish I knew why that happened, because all my families are in there. Do you know if there's a way to fix my saves so I don't have to start over completely?

  • LeBiscuitDoctor  One common cause of this issue is removing a cc tattoo that one of your sims was using.  So if you do have any cc tattoos, add them back, updated versions if necessary.  And if that alone doesn't help, add back any other mods or cc you used for this save, again updated versions.
