Game crashing when opening game after August 6th Patch

Hi ! I hope someone can help with this or make sure it gets where its supposed to! ^^

I just updated my game to todays August 6th Patch update & when I tried opening my game, it got stuck on loading screen for several minutes, I decided to force-close the game, remove my mods, repair the game, delete all things related to cache & lastthumbnailcache & tried again WITHOUT any mods or CC at all! Zero, zip, nada! And the game still stuck me on an infinite loading screen that lasted for exactly 3 minutes before the game crashed itself. 

So, to summarize, I tried twice. With mods & then without. I also am very diligent about what & where I download stuff so I know its not a mod or I would've already updated/removed it.

    I followed the steps to create a new game version. Just rename your Sims 4 folder to "Sims 4 Backup" or smth like that, then launch the game again which makes it create a new version of the game. You'll still have your saves & trays in the "backup" one, but launch the game WITHOUT them first & see if you get to the main menu. Just google "how to create new game version sims 4" & it'll give you the steps on how to do it 😊 I was able to get to the main menu after doing this at least. But only if I did it vanilla, I believe UI Cheats was broken unfortunately & likely some others too.

    I'm experiencing the same thing! Game worked fine this morning before update, now after doing all of the same steps as you I'm forever on the game loading screen after hitting Load Game on the homescreen. Mine doesn't even crash though, just continues to spin indefinitely.

    Having the same issues, i updated everything and my game wont even load after the patch. what did you do to get it going again

    EDIT: I followed the instructions for how to create a brand new game version & that seems to have fixed the issue I was having! 😁
    It loaded into the main menu at least, which is what it didn't do before. Hoping it was just some error on my end from downloading the new patch. 🙏

    Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    • Press Windows-Key + R
    • Type: DxDiag
    • Click on Save all Information.
    • Attach the Text File to your post
