Game Crashing Whole Computer After Latest Update

No matter what I do, when I'm playing the game it causes my whole laptop to shut down. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing seems to be working at all. I've kept it plugged in this whole...

NordicGingerSnap​  To be clear, you mean Baldur's Gate 3 runs fine?  The older ones would obviously not be nearly as demanding.

Talking with the second opinion again, it's possible that the problem is your laptop's battery, not anything else, so that would be something to test if you get the chance.
