Game Crashing within 5-10 minutes of start up

This has been ongoing for months with me and I have tried everything.

I will load up sims, open game and within 5-10 minutes game freezes, mouse still moves but i cannot do anything and have to force close.

Latterly, I have been creating a new game, same happens. I don't know if a coincidence but always tends to be when I am in build/buy. This time I managed to build a little lot, when into game play, moved around and then it teleported me back to the build buy screen on my lot and froze as above.

I have tried:

  1. Updates on laptop.
  2. Updated drivers.
  3. Tried installing old drivers in case it's a new driver bug.
  4. Deleted Local cache package.
  5. repaired games and add ons.
  6. Deleted all mods.

I really am at a loss now and  I feel I have wasted so much money on a game I can no longer play.

Laptop is an Omen 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H (2.30 GHz).

  • CMJT26  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
