For the missing save, what platform do you play on: PC, Mac, or one of the consoles? If PC or Mac, do you see any save files corresponding to the old save? They'd be in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves, and you can find the right ones by their modified dates. If you do see any, highlight them and post a screenshot.
