Game is borked

I am unable to play my game.  I cannot build.  If I download a house, then I can no longer play the game and have to use ctrl alt delete to get out of it.  Since I bought a new computer I have had nothing but issues.  Every time I come out of the game it tells me about deleted file. I need some help to sort this out please

  • cypriano3  Please test the game in a new admin Windows account, to see whether this problem is limited to your main account or is more global.  Make the account local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account or any email address.  You'll be able to launch the game without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user content won't be available.  That's fine for the purposes of this test and can be addressed later if you happen to want to use the new account going forward.

Thank you for this.  I did delete all the photos that had actually gone black and i was able to save and download again.  Thank you.  I was getting really frustrated.  Now I hope all is well and I can continue to build obviously without custom pictures lol.

How do I say, "that's not it".  I am tired now.  Maybe it is too many items because I got to nearly finish my house and it was downloading, but then I added some stuff to the back yard and voila, system error.  There are no mods, there are no paintings or photos only game items.  I give up.  It's annoying.  Yes I read the thread, so the last thing I am about try is having an empty yard and see if it is the amount of items.

  • cypriano3  I'm sorry to hear that.  This error is relatively uncommon, from what I've seen, and I don't know of any suggestions that aren't in that thread.

It might be easier at this point to rebuild the house from scratch, to the extent that you're able.  Yes it's a lot of work, but you could take screenshots of your existing one and copy them onto a blank lot.  I do this all the time when I'm building, if I want a clean build for whatever reason, and it really isn't that bad.
