Game is Unplayable!

DaisyC74​  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Sorry it took me a while, hadn't had a chance to play. It crashed about an hour into playing.😞

Just like you, my game crashes without warning after playing for about 10 to 30 minutes. This bug used to occur when Memory Boost was enabled, but at least previous versions allowed us to disable it manually. Now it’s enabled by default.

This sucks, I'm sorry this is happening to you as well, but it's nice to hear I'm not alone in this cause at least it proves it's most likely not coming from our end.

DaisyC74​  Your dxdiag doesn't contain any error reports.  Do you use a cleaner app or something else designed to delete temporary files?  If so, please disable or remove it—the app may be deleting the problem reports, which we need in order to figure this out.

Once you've done that, or you can skip this step if you don't have any such app, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Click Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

Okay, I will work on that. I don’t believe I have a cleaner app so I don’t know what I’m looking for cause I haven’t done anything different for it to not show me what’s causing it to crash when it used to before. I will report back when I get the chance. Thank you for continuing to help me. 🥹

DaisyC74​  This is an access violation that points back to the game itself.  That's unfortunately too generic to be useful on its own.  So please list the details of this latest crash, as much as you can remember: what your sim was doing, whether the sim is an occult and/or has custom tattoos or skin details, what lot you were playing on, anything else.  The trigger for the crash would likely have happened immediately before; it shouldn't matter what your sim was doing or wearing or who else was around two in-game hours prior.

Since I removed the sims folder it was a new game, the same I was playing with was a premade sim from the gallery since I assumed it would crash again it wouldn’t matter how much effort I put into it. It was just a regular sims, no occult. I believe the sims just talking to other sims when it crashed.

There is something else, I noticed some other games were crashing too but those were giving warnings so I DDU’d my graphics card and redid the whole thing. Tested 1 of 3 games and it seemed to not crash. Will test the other 2 today (one of them being sims 4) and I will report back after my findings.
