GAME KEEPS CLOSING ITSELF

Hi, my game keeps freezing randomly and then closing for no reason. My laptop is new and has been running the game perfectly for a month  and I have restarted it multiple times so its nothing to do with my laptop. I have checked all my mods and they are all fine and not broken so I'm really confused at this point. The game launches and runs fine for a few minutes and then will suddenly freeze and close itself, which is really annoying as I don't want to keep having to save the game every second! I have repaired the sims through Origin but that hasn't worked either :( Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any ideas on what could be happening? This only started happening today and I really just want to play my game!

  • Been having this problem too, i got a popup telling me to change to 32bit and after an hour of circling online figured out it was a leftover origin message and that 32bit hasn't been supported by EA for the last 2 years! My laptop isn't even 6 months old and runs everything else quick and smooth. Been having this problem for the past few weeks now, sometimes I'm lucky and it stays open in the background so i can just click back onto it but there's been multiple times I've lost hours of progress because its frozen for a minuet then crashed completely. Would love to figure out a solution because at first i thought it must've been a problem on my end. I've also repaired my game restarted my laptop etc.

  • this is also happening to me too, except i am getting no errors.  this started happening to me after i purchased a few expansion packs.  i  am getting the lastcrash.txt reports but i have no idea how to read them and i dont play with mods.  i have uninstalled and reinstalled.  checked that my stuff was up to date and my game still closes out.  sometimes it will close immediately after opening and sometimes it will close in the middle of my game.  its horrible i

  • This just started happening to me last night! It has become very frustrating. The game turns on and loads fine. It plays for a couple of minutes and then all of a sudden, I can't do anything. I can move the camera around, and I can select play and pause and build mode, as well as select items in build mode, but it will not let me place them. I have tried the "repair" through the EA app. I have restarted my computer. I deleted all of my CC and Mods as well. My laptop is newer (Less than 4 months old) and it's a gaming laptop, so the storage capacity is fine. Whenever I try to save the game, the save icon just keeps "loading". I am not sure what is going on or how to fix it. Last night, the game just completely shut down and kicked me out without any kind of warning, and ever since then I have been having these issues.

  • lucimae06 JEMSIMM ErinShae16  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also let me know whether your user folder is in OneDrive.  Here's how to find its location:

AftonAftermathh  I've answered you in your own thread.  Let's continue there.
