game not opening

so i stopped playing the sims for about a year but over that year i have tried to open the game occasionally but everytime i opened it the game was incredible laggy and was impossible to play. yesterday i really wanted to play so i tried to open the game via the ea app but it crashed many times - the ea app said 'there is an error on our end please try again later'. i did everything i could to fix this - i cleared the cashe, i repaired the game, i even deleted and reinstalled the game. i have deleted all my custom content i have no screenshots or images from the game saved anywhere. i tried turning the resolution down to low medium but that made the game even more laggy. the only time something worked and the game wasnt laggy and i could build the shell of a house, suddenly my computer kicked me to a different app and when i returned the sims just lagged out. i tried today and i still have this notification from the ea app. what do i do

  • rosa_e13​  Have you restarted your computer since you got the "failed to launch game" error?  If so, and you're still seeing the error, does the game actually open now?  There are some other recommendations in the first post of this thread for this error, but they mostly only apply to when the game doesn't open at all, not when it launches and crashes afterwards.

    Please let me know whether any of these help.  And if the game does in fact open now, let me know what you see: a crash, lag, whatever.

    Please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
