Game not starting

Hi so im having trouble starting my game and i seriously don't know whats wrong. I've had this game for about a year and some and i was playing it fine just a couple months ago. I usually open it from steam and it will just run but now when i open it in steam it just goes to the EA app and it just kinda goes back and forth. I tried deleting some cc but it didn't do anything. Im considering deleting the game then reinstalling but will all my cc and mods be deleted too?

  • I've been having the same issue since yesterday. The EA app opens fine but the Sims 4 refuses to load. I have no mods. I've tried so many things. Ununstalling and reinstalling, repairing, creating a new user, running as administrator, updating my nvidia driver....

  • fairyllvr pagesofdreams  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

If you get an error message at any point, please post a screenshot.
