Game or PC crashing on launch

Every time I try to launch Sims 4, one of two things happens. If I'm lucky, the game "fails to launch" because of "an issue on EA's end." If I'm unlucky, my computer crashes entirely. I have no mods or CC. I have tried: clearing my cache, running as an admin, updating all drivers, repairing the game and EA app, reinstalling the game and EA app, turning off antivirus, and creating a new Documents/EA/The Sims 4 folder. If anyone has any more suggestions, please let me know. I am at my wit's end.

It seems to be happening to a lot of people, I did all that as well, I've even cleaned the cache too. Nothing is working, so whatever they did on their updates, I think it screwed up the game entirely.

  • candy10candy JinxyBinxy  If you still need help, I would suggest creating a new, local, admin Windows account and trying to play there.  This will cover a number of potential causes at once.  The Windows account must be local, as in, not linked to your Microsoft account or any email address.

Please also restart your computer before trying to play, each and every time.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
