I had The Sims 4 installed via Origin(now EA). It had worked. I bought The Sims and The Sims 2 on Steam, and it automatically installed a second The Sims 4. Wanting to make things easier, I uninstalled The Sims 4 from the EA app, installed from Steam, and linked both accounts when booting the game. Now I keep getting the error in the picture. How do I fix this? Please note, I have removed all Sims 4 folders from the original install location, changed the EA app install location so it would recognize the Steam install, and still get this.
How do I fix this?

I'm in the US, I've owned The Sims 4 since launch, bought it physical (had the plumbob usb drive, so Limited Edition?). There is no VPN in play, I do use an antivirus, but it's the same one I used when I first installed the game at launch. Not sure how much of this info will help, but here's hoping.
Edit: I just realized the USB drive came with Sims 3, not 4... My bad...

Alrighty so i found a fix that worked for me!
if you open Sims 4 through the installed folder in steamapps/common/The Sims 4/Game/Bin
Open TS4_x64
This then loaded the game into the EA App and opened it.
Hope this helps you guys

This seems to have worked for me too, although it's only the standard version of the game through Steam, not the Limited edition I was playing previously. The EA app is currently installing all of the add ons I own. Maybe I'll just have to do without?
Also stopping back for everyone else reading this, once you load the game how Mindbenderrr suggested, Steam's button will work as normal. This pic was taken after loading directly from SteamEDIT: I know it's been a long time since I loaded into the game, but now none of my gallery creations are available... Just a heads up, if you are switching from the EA app to Steam, this may happen.
