Game won't progress pass loading screen.

Hello, I'm hoping this forum can help, because I'm at a loss.  I have a 'super sim' save file I've been working on for a few years, and recently it stopped progressing through the loading screens during traveling after a couple hours of play.   It was frustrating enough losing all that save data when I would forget to save before traveling, but ever since the birthday drop, my sims home lot won't load.  If I try to join the game through the menu, it won't progress past the loading screen, and if I pull up the save and load it that way, it'll open the world fine, but as soon as I load her house, I run into the same issue.  The loading screen will just cycle and cycle and never end.  I have to force close the game each time.  I have found that if I join a different house, and then load her house after it will sometimes load.  Between this and the crashing during travel, this save file is becoming unplayable.   Is there any remedy? 

As far as I know, my other save files do not have this issue, but I haven't sunk in a significant amount of time to test the traveling issue.  However, the other saves will load fine. 

I do not have any scripted mods installed, and that box is unchecked in the settings.  I do have some CC, however, removing the mods folder did not help the save game load, and other save files are loading fine with the CC installed. 

I have tried 'recovering' a previous version of this save file and loading that, to no avail. 

I have tried making a backup of my sims 4 folder, and letting the game recreate a new folder, then moving the save back in.  This did not resolve the issue.

I have done a fresh reinstall through steam and through the EA App, (all my content is through EA, but I launch through steam) and have used REVO Uninstaller to ensure any stray files got deleted.  This didn't resolve the issue. 

I fear that I may have to backup the sim and her home through gallery though I know this will lose her relationship progress and inventory among other things I'm sure.. so I'd like to avoid having to do that if possible as she has 8 children who do not live with her. 

I will try loading the save through my macbook once I've charged it, to see if I have the same issue there, but I primarily play on my PC so it's important that it works here. 

Please tell me there's a way to fix this because I already lost my Legacy game of many years due to all the lots completely disappearing when you load into them, and I really don't want to lose another save that I've sunk hundreds of hours into.
