How to move Sims 4 data to Flash Drive?

Just as the title suggests, I want to move my data to an external drive to save space on my PC. I've been constantly researching how to move it, and every attempt is just my data in the game being erased.  I tried to Command Prompt, and it didn't work. I also can't do the one on the EA App, where you have to download it through the external drive itself, because it only keeps saying the "Preparing" line and never really exceeds the 2% download progress. I'm new to the community and game so I don't really know how it works.

Feel free to ask more questions, or for further help troubleshooting, for any particular step.

One other detail to be aware of is that the drive should be formatted as NTFS.  You can check by clicking Windows key-X and selecting Disk Management.  If it's for example FAT32/exFAT, format it as NTFS before doing anything else.  This will wipe the drive, so back up anything you don't want to lose.
