I've just started encountering the same problem. I thought it happened because I changed the GraphicsRules.sgr, but I repaired the game and although it worked for a bit, it happened again today. Then I tried Windowed mode and it happened after I closed my laptop - not when I minimized.

I play while I commute to work on the train so this really stinks. 

I just updated my graphics drivers and followed the repair prompt provided earlier in the thread and I'm hoping for the best.
