Hi!
I have been having this problem since the last update (before the most recent January patch)... I have tried all of the above solutions and my game still starts up to a black screen with music.
I don't know if this is relevant, but my Sims 3 game is doing the same thing (but my Sims 2 game works perfectly fine).
I've attached by DxDiag.
Some basics about my computer:
- Dual graphics ((I have Sims 4 running on the card, not the chip))
- 64-bit with 4gb ram ((I have Sims 4 running as 32-bit))
- Windows 10
I hope something can be figured out, because I haven't been able to play my game for almost a month now and it's super upsetting ☹️

How about the CAS Demo, does that work ?
Could you also try to roll back to earlier AMD drivers ?

The CAS demo works perfectly.
How would I go about changing to an earlier AMD driver?

Start the device manager and click on graphics cards. Then choose the AMD one and choose drivers. There should be an option to use the earlier ones.
Also somewhere on the AMD page, there should be a page to re-download them but I have no luck finding them atm.
Try the device manager first and if it doesn't work, I'll try to find the drivers for you.

This has happened today for the first time in months and it's really annoying because when I turn it on there is no sound and the screen is white but then it goes black. After a while the game showed up but my mouse wasn't responding (and i play it on laptop with a mouse). This happened right after i held a party on the game at 2 am real-time ( but 1 pm sims time) with the extended party mod and my mouse stopped working once the game said there was 0 minutes left but the party was still going on. I wanted to go bed so i decided to close my laptop without turning it off ( it was 4 am when I decided this). When I opened my laptop this morning the time on the sims was 3 am so the party had been going on for a very long time. The screen was unresponsive when i went on the sims 4 so i had to create a new desktop to get away. When I went back on it the screen was black and the game wouldn't load until 4 hours later! Then I went on to the other desktop screen to investigate and nothing came up. I went back on the game and it had loaded but the time on the sims was now 10 am. Then i saved it because i got lucky and turned off the laptop and turned it back on. Now when i go onto it, it loads perfectly except windows says that theirs a problem with the game and that I should close the program even though it is fine and works. Plus origin hasn't added on extra hours that i played the game yet which is annoying. Does anyone know what to do?
