I have been having trouble with the Origin Client and I seriously do NOT want to deal with it at the moment. I have just bought Sims 4 and would like to play it, ASAP. So, is there a way to install the Sims 4 without logging into origin? It doesn't look it, but I'd figure I'd ask anyway. I just honestly hate the client. I don't need it.

Hi guys.I, like you, was incredibly frustrated with getting Origin to work. I attempted to turn off proxy- I don't use one anyway. Then I turned off firewall and antivirus, as I thought that could be interfering. No dice, origin still wouldn't let me online. Finally I talked to a nice chappie called Ryan at EA support (the first of six people that were actually helpful btw!). He got me to follow these directions:The next thing that you need to do after running the ccleaner is to disable User account control. User Account Control (UAC) requires the user to manually approve program and game executable launches. This can interfere with any game functions that are triggered on start up, such as connecting to servers or attempting to verify installed DLC.Here's how:1. Navigate to the desktop.2. Hold down the Windows key and press R. (This will open the Run dialogue.)3. Type msconfig and press Enter.4. In System Configuration, select the Tools tab.5. Select Change UAC Settings and click the Launch button.6. Pull the level to the down position Never Notify and click the OK button.Next is to disable firewall, then try opening Origin again.I have no idea why it worked, but it got origin working. I'm so damn happy right now it's not funny. i also have the same problem.whenever origins starts my connection gets cut, so i can't even install my game that i bought today.

You need to use Origin for the initial install. What issues are you having, perhaps we can help?Once the game is installed and launched once, you can set Origin to offline and launch the game without using it. It's worth checking back occasionally for updates/patches though.

I'm having the same problem, it keeps saying i'm offline and won't allow me to install the game. i bought the disc hard copy from target, so why do i even need to be online to install anways? that aside, i am online, but it keeps giving me that message and i've been trying for 2 days and it's quite frustrating.

I FINALLY managed to install my Sims 4 game through Origin yesterday, but now I can't open it. Online login is unavailable as usual, but I thought I didn't need to be online anymore?!The game I registered and installed and played yesterday isn't in my list of games on Origin anymore. Whenever I try to open the game from the disc it wants me to activate it again, although I already did. It's installed on my computer, but I can't open it. It's driving me CRAZY!!!What can I do? What do we do when Origin doesn't exist anyway? Do we sit there with a useless game?

Hi,
If you go to control panel --> internet options --> connections --> the click off the LAN settings box so there is not a tick in it then this should work! worked for me!

Yes there is a way and my way was quick and simple. First I thought to myself if the update is not working then why update your origin at all. I uninstalled my updated origin and looked up online old version of origin to install. Once I installed the old version of origin I put my Sims4 disc in and like it always says sign in to your account so I did and walla the origin has acceptes the installation from there and I was relieved. Didnt have to call EA for assistance nor had to look on YouTube. This actually works try it and guarantee you it will work. Message if you have any problems and I will tell what exactly to do. Going to try this since I also have the disk and don't see why I need to be online to download something I have a copy of, but how did you go offline from Origin? What Origin tab? Is this on the Origin website?

I am also having a problem with this, My issue is if i boot up my laptop and try to run the game with no internet connection it wont log in and therefore wont let me play the game. I have tried at home with internet on and logged in fine and then selected offline mode and disconnected the internet and it works fine, but if i exit out of origins or restart the computer while still being offline it tells me I need to log in to origins, but I cant because i am offline.
I contacted origin support 3 times and all 3 advisors hung up the chat because they couldnt fix it, and pretended there was an issue with my internet (I have 80meg broadband and everything else was working fine).
If anyone else is having this issue please help. so frustrating bought this game to play on long trips.

The issue I am having is that is taking forever to install. Yesterday it was "installing" for more than 5 hours and then it crashed and cancelled the installation. I just got the game for my bday and I can't wait to play but the weekend is passing by mocking me while I sit infront of the computer yelling at origin.

I had a problem where origin said it was offline, and thaat i needed to be online to logon. Also, when i went to the origin website it all came up in plain blue text as if you were on a notepad reader or something. I solved my problem by following this tutorial:

You have to have internet to install, but you can play it without internet.
Step 1. Go online and reinstall your Sims 4- (If it didn't appear in your games list)
Step 2. Click the Origin application
Step 3. Log in to Origin the same way you would if you were online.
Step 4. (Optional) Click Remember Me
Step 5. In the menu, click Play Offline.
Step 6.Click the Sims 4 in your games.
Then, you're done!

That's unfair! I don't have the internet and always get the hard copy disks for that reason, installing and playing offline, and then registering the product when I get the chance. The only reason I'm capable of downloading at the moment is because I have my computer tethered to my cell phone as a mobile hotspot, but I have a 5G per month limit and I've already used more than 3 since the data period rolled over a week ago!!! How is this fair? Would Origin and EA like to pay my phone bill this month?? Cud is appreciate that for all this hassle!!
