Issue with launching game

Hello!

I'm having this super weird issue after updating my game, all my mods are updated and cc too (none are broken) but my game won't launch, it does tell my game is launching but when looking inside task manager the mb data doesn't move and gets stuck at 1511mb...

Now what I did was the 50/50 method thinking it should be a broken cc since game launches with just mods in but as i removed and added slowly cc back the game launched and eventually launched with all the cc and mods in but doesn't launch if I don't do this beforehand ??

Did anyone have this issue too after updating? All I find online is the "fail to launch message" which I do not have...

  • simplyyzoe  At the moment, does the game ever load properly with all your mods and custom content present?  This could be a question of load order, which is difficult to diagnose, but at the heart of it is a mod conflict of sorts.  So you could test for conflicts, using the 50/50 method twice (to find the first mod that's conflicting, then the second one as you test all your mods and cc against the first one).  BUT you'd only consider the test to be a pass, as in, no conflict, if the game loaded properly several times in a row.  I understand this is tedious, but the alternative is to ditch most of your mods and cc for now.

Separately, if the game doesn't start properly only when you haven't restarted your computer since the last time you played, that alone could be the issue.  So please restart after each test.  Or you could simply close the EA App and kill the EABackgroundService in the Task Manager's background processes list.

I will try that and get back to you ! Hopefully this will work

  • simplyyzoe  Does it help to remove the entire Mods folder and let the game generate a new one, then add your mods and custom content to that?  Please try if you haven't already.

Please also check your antivirus for recent actions involving Sims 4.  If you use Windows Defender, you'll need to check Controlled Folder Access specifically.
